First of many posts to come!

This is going to be a new experience for me but, hey! That's what life is all about now isn't it?!

First, a little bit about myself. I am of Irish, German, English and Cherokee descent. I have been married twice and divorced twice. The first time, it was a disaster from the beginning. The second time, it was because I was truly in love. But, people change and things happen in life, that are untimely.

I have traveled the STATES extensively and been to a few countries overseas, so I guess that I am "well traveled" as some have put it. So, here goes. But first, let me take a moment and send some thanks out.

I have a few people that have been special in my life and I would like to take this moment to thank them for being who they are. First and foremost, my sisters. They have always been there for me and both have spent more time than most being a sounding post for me when times dictated. Secondly, my Uncle Earl (now deceased) and Aunt Gwen. Both have become very special people to me and I will always remember the time spent in each of their company. Third, Marykay, I will never be able to thank her enough for inspiring me in life. Forth, my Grand Daughter Valerie McKinley Hill, for all the times that she looked to me for life's answers to all her many questions.

Now, down to the business of this BLOG!

I have been a Travel ICU Registered Nurse for the past 17 years and an ICU RN longer than that. I have worked as a "staff" ICU RN twice and it isn't for me. I love the open road and all that it has to offer. Even though I have had 2 homes in Florida, I have sold my first and now have my second up for sale as of 3 months ago. I have chosen to keep my residency in Florida but freely travel the States in an RV.

That brings me up to now. Although I should have done this years ago, and for reasons that aren't worth bringing up, I didn't... I finally, am "on the road for good". Yep, a fulltimer as it is known in the RV world. Since I don't need much to be content... and... it allows me to go more places, I bought a used low maintenance Casita 16 foot Travel Trailer and I have taken the time to make a number of improvements to it so far. I still have a few more comfort related improvements to make and then I will head across the country again and north to Alaska before long. Thanks goes out to my father for making sure that I knew how to work with tools and do many things related to that.

I will eventually post many pics of my past travels but also keep ya'll up to date on my current travels. I hope that I won't be too boring and I also hope that you enjoy reading my blog and seeing my pictures. I will try to post as much information as I can but if I don't, please email me and ask questions. I will be happy to fill in the blanks for you on things that I may have left out. But, if it is after I have slept, I may have forgotten some of the details.

Thanks again for taking the time to read my blog.

  2. Hi Joey!

I just found your blog. Made it over here from the Casita forum.

I, too, am an RN. I've done travel nursing 4 times in my 25 year career (OB) and loved it. I admire anyone who does it full-time.

And I used to own a 16 ft. Spirit Deluxe that, in retrospect, I probably should have kept.

I hope you keep the blog updated - I would love to follow you along on your travels!
